THE HRC's MISSION: The Hydrogeology Research Center (HRC) is WVU's center for academic research in hydrogeology and geochemistry. It is a joint effort between the Eberly College of Arts and Science and the WV Water Research Institute, both on the WVU campus in Morgantown. Its focus is on applied water research problems related to mining, water availability, or groundwater contamination within West Virginia and the mid-Appalachian region. The HRC staff consists of WVU faculty, research associates, and students. HRC projects are sponsored by a variety of state, federal, and local groups. The HRC Director is Dr. Joe Donovan, of the WVU Department of Geology and Geography.
